Shwan Ibrahim Taha


Mr. Shwan has over thirty years of experience in the financial sector. He started his finance career managing money in the MENA region, including Turkey, Greece and Pakistan. From 1997 to 2006 Shwan worked for Franklin Templeton as part of Mark Mobius’s emerging markets team, responsible for investments in the MENA region, he established two research and investment offices one in Dubai and the second in Istanbul. In 2006 Mr. Shwan joined a two-man team to co-manage a hedge fund that was funded and sponsored by George Soros. Mr. Shwan left the partnership with Soros and took over Rabee Securities which he had acquired back in 1999. RS quickly became the premier securities firm in Iraq, expanding to four offices including Istanbul, Turkey. RS was the sole manager of the largest two listings in Iraq, AsiaCell and Zain, winning the company many international acclaims.

Mr. Shwan obtained a biomedical engineering degree from Case Western Reserve University and an MBA from George Washington University. Mr. Shwan is married with three kids and is residing and working between Iraq, Turkey and the United States.

Mr. Baban has been with Rabee Securities (RS) for 27 years. He served as the Chairman and the Acting Chairman in the Board of Governors of ISX. He also was a member of “Broker Representative” in the Board of Governors of ISX for four years, and acted as the CEO of the ISX. Mr. Baban also worked in the Board of Supreme Audit in the Government of Iraq. Mr. Baban is a member of various ISX and Iraqi Depository Center (IDC) committees. He participated in the negotiations on the electronic trading system and had given lectures related to brokerage assistance training. He is a recipient of various awards and thank you letters from the governing bodies for his efforts in developing the market and for maintaining the highest standards at RS. In addition, he represented RS in the board of directors of Al-Ameen Financial Investments (Al Ameen) as the chairman (2013-2015), and also, he worked as a consultant at Al Ameen, which is a listed company on the ISX with ISX code of “VAMF”. Mr. Baban is also managing the Rabee Al Suleymani for Stock Exchange, a subsidiary of RS, which is a member at Erbil Stock Exchange (ESX). Mr. Baban has a Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics from College of Economic and Management, University of Baghdad, 1982/1983.

Aysegul Ozge Ozgur

SVP, Head of Research/Istanbul

Ms. Ozgur joined Rabee in 2009 from Fortis to head the Research department. She is responsible for publishing sector and company reports, and preparing presentations and updates on the ISX and at the macro level. In addition, Ms. Ozgur supports clients with their research related questions. After graduating from Economics Department of Marmara University in 2006, Ms. Ozgur joined the Research department of Alternative Investment, Turkey. During her 2 year tenure, she was responsible for covering the construction and glass sectors. She joined the research department of Fortis Securities, a subsidiary of Fortis Bank A.S. Turkey, as an assistant manager. Sectors under her coverage included automotive, oil refining and fuel distribution. She has an advanced level-Capital Markets Board license awarded by the financial regulatory and supervisory agency of Turkey, SPK. She obtained a Master of Science in Finance degree from Koc University in Turkey in 2013. 

Mr. Yassir has over 20 years in management and investment. Mr. Yassir started his career as broker assistance in in Baghdad Stock Exchange in 1996. Also, he worked with the USAID Projects in Iraq as Senior Advisor for Public Administration in USAID/Tatweer Project and Deputy Director for the Business and Investment Enabling Environment of USAID/Tijara Projects from 2009 to 2011. Rami started with Rabee Securities from 2009 as Special Accounts Manager and assist the Research Department. In 2012 he assigned as Managing Director, working from RS Suleymani Branch to the end of 2017. He is the Head of RS App Development now. Rami has a Master Degree in Public Administration from Cairo in 2009 and B.Sc. in Electronic Engineering received from Iraq in 1996. Mr. Yassir received his Broker License in 1996 and worked in that field for many years. He also received an E-trading license in 2009.
